How to play Matchsticks Math
Rules
Only the number of matches the goal allows may change place. In move puzzles, a match you put back where it started costs nothing. Every digit and sign must still read as a real digit or sign. The equals sign may stand on either side: 5 = 3 + 2 is true too.
Digits
Digits are drawn like a calculator display. 1 has 2 matches, 7 has 3 (no upper-left match), 4 has 4, and 8 has all 7. 6 keeps its top match and 9 keeps its bottom match, so each has 6. A plus is 2 matches, a minus 1, and an equals sign 2.
Controls
Tap a match to lift it, then tap an empty spot to place it. In add puzzles, tap an empty spot to add a match. In remove puzzles, lift a match and tap Discard.
